Do americans still eat freedom fries?

and why do americans hate france? while paris is the most prefered destination for honeymooners.

The name has for the most part reverted to French Fries.  It started because France didn't back the US when our government wanted to go to war in the middle east

Never had a freedom fry.

At the time, which was very brief, many Americans considered some French commentary to be 'kicking a man when he's down'...so a mass revolt ensued, at least in CNN's mind. That silliness passed.

I always eat pomme frites anyways   :-P

I never saw French Fries called Freedom Fries anywhere ever than on the news!  I think they did that in some silly lunchrooms in Washington DC.

Paris is wonderful, but with the weak dollar vs Euro it isn't really a great place for any American tourist.  And when I was in Paris, my French was just good enough to understand the many people insulting my country...

I think this was just media hype.  I have never even heard of anyone who has seen these in real life.

I never called them freedom fries. I personally don't have any problem with the French. I love the language & everything. That is a very good point though, about the honeymoon thing. Ironic.

I think most people hate them because we think they hate us. Also after 9-11 some french people said we desevered it for being rich stuck up americans.

I agree w/ the previous poster. I call them french fries and I have no quarrel w/the French people or France.  I don't know of anyone who is holding any kind of ill will against France or anything French.

im not sure why they hate france, maybe because they are different cultures. but the statue of liberty is french and part of usa national anthem is freedom and liberty which was founded by the french! so why doesnt america stop being so childish

Americans don't hate France, in fact, I love it!  I only saw French Fries called Freedom Fries on the news, too.  Those politicians in DC tried to get us to change too, but they bombed.  We're too smart for that.
