I was wondering if anesthesiologists had to provide needle shots because my friend is interested in becoming one in regards that they measure the blood pressure and heart rate but is afraid of needles, should she/he become one or is there a profession similar to that?

  1. yes, definately, sounds like ur frined should think of a differnt career path

  2. NEEDLES!  Oh, you better believe we use needles!  Big ones, small ones, long ones, short ones... all different points on them.  We are totally into needles.

    We put them almost anywhere.

My personal favorite is spinals.  I did one of those today, and a femoral nerve block.

We don't get stuck with needles though.  They're much more fun when you're not on the pointy end.

  3. You can't be afraid of needles in the medical field. She needs to find something else. Anesthesiology is very serious.
