  1. it sure seems like dogs do.

i see what looks like rapid eye movement.

One of my dogs seems to have pleasant dreams - the other seems to yip in fear, so i wake him up gently, to get him out of the bad dream.

  2. Yes, animals dream. Researchers Dr. Matthew Wilson and Kenway Louie at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology selected four lucky rats. They implanted micro-electrodes into the hippocampus, the region of the brain associated with memory. Then they monitored the firing patterns of the neurons hooked up to micro-electrodes.

The patterns were the same whether the rat was dreaming about running around on a track or actually running around on a track. In fact, by just looking at the patterns, the scientists could tell whether the creature was dreaming about running or just sitting around. So why do animals dream? Probably to re-live and learn from experience.

  3. I cant imagine they don't. If you've seen a sleeping dog or cat, you'll see all sorts of comical twitches, even sleep-yelping.

They probably dream of the same c**p people dream about, but from the animal's visual/memory cues, and within its own framework.

  4. The squirrels in our backyard drive my dog nuts. he chasses them up the tree. I think he dreams about chasing them at night, cause his legs flinch and he also yelps, at first silently and sometimes louder.

Sometimes it sounds like he is having a bad dream. I have to wake him up by petting his side to wake him out of it gently and as to not startle him.

  5. yes they dream

  6. My dog does. He wil move his feet and even yips. I think he's dreaming about chasing rabbits in the yard.

  7. Yes animals dream...the same things that you dream about.

  8. I have a cat that came to me injured and pregnant many years ago. She has nightmares about whatever happened to her. Out of a sound sleep she will start meowing really loud faster and faster 'till she wakes up looking around wildly. Her injury is on her back near her tail. Her tail just hangs limp. The damage was severe. she couldn't pass the kittens from the nerve damage.Only one lived. She is an awesome cat. She taps me on the shoulder every time I pass by her and she plays kitty "soccer" in the kitchen with a small ball.

  9. The answer is yes, they do. As with humans, animals experience REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. During this deep level of sleep, animals and people dream. Animals dream more frequently than humans and like humans they too dream about their lives.

My guess would be that dogs probably dream about walks in the park or chasing rabbits. Cats probably dream about nabbing that little mouse that ran across the patio. As for other animals, such as wild animals, they would probably dream about running with the pack or catching their prey. These are just guesses, I imagine it would be difficult to really find out what an animal is dreaming about.

  10. yes.....animals do move ........they sometimes bark or even wimp during they are sleeping...

  11. yes dogs dream question is about what who knows
