  1. Earth his a carbon based life system. everything in the system can be converted into any number of liquid fuels. it is only  matter of cost vs. value.

  2. My company has access to a refining process that can make biodiesel out of virtually any animal or plant based lipids (oils or fats). It can even use both of these raw materials simultaneously. Yeah, we can make biodiesel out of a cow.

  3. Not complex animals, but phytoplankton and microorganisms like algae are able to create burnable bio fuels. Farm animal manure - pigs, cows, etc, can be used to create burnable fuels such as methane - but it's very inefficient.

  4. I've heard that complex animals' excrement can be used.  But I don't know if thats true nor would I go to a gas station that offered that particular fuel.

  5. No real value, the fat will burn but it would end up more expensive than regular diesel, in it's natural state it is a solid, and would need to be heated to make it a liquid.

While vegetable oil is a natural liquid and much cheaper to produce.

  6. I saw an article a while back about using chicken poo to power either cars or power plants - I cant remember now.  I cant imagine the air pollution from something like that, lol!  I'm not too sure how I feel about that. :p

  7. Animal fat can be used, but it is not the best biodiesel. Oils from organisms like algae can also be used as fuels.

  8. In many countries cow manure is burned as fuel.
