Do animals know what they look like?

Hi I reckon they do.

Come the breeding season all h***s let loose in the animal world especially the male species.

They have to be able to recognise who's going to get that female so they must know.

Plus reflections etc,in mirrors or water would give them an idea.

Put a bull and a horse in a field and I reckon nothing would come of it but put two bulls in together and there would be a lot of ground scratching and fighting so they must be able to recognise and differentiate.

elephants and chimps have been known to recognize themselves in mirrors

im not sure but my dog barks at herself when she is in fron of a mirror. she kinda gets exited...lol
