  1. no

  2. i had a dog when i was a kid  until senior year , he was like 12 .... one day he just walked off and never came back ... i think he knew he was going to die and wanted to be by himself for the event

  3. Some do.

There are areas in Africa known as the Elephant Graveyards, where Elephants go when they know they are going to die, either due to animal injuries or just old age, so I think the answer is yes.

  4. maybe they do... just curl up and die

i mean... i they can... theres nothing they can do about it

  5. Scientists believe that most animals know when they are going to die. Rabbits, for instance, will leave the burrow and find a place to curl up in before they die that is away from the family. Wolves will leave the pack. Elephants have been known to travel miles to reach 'graveyards' where they die. It is a strange, but not unheard of behavior. Domestic animals are thought to have lost some of this 'sense.'

  6. I would imagine they do sometimes, depending on what is killing them.  They aren't much different from humans in that respect.

  7. I don't believe they do. But I think they get feelings about it. Right before my dog died, a cat totally warmed up to him, it was the cutest and saddest site I had ever seen. He hated cats, but they looked so nice together.

  8. no. but if they are sick they may try to find a nice peaceful place to die

  9. go ask one see if they answer

  10. I believe they do...we had a 21 year old cat that was getting sick.  She was herself until one day..she just looked at us and laid down.....we knew she knew it was time.

  11. I think some do.

I have had plenty of animals who start to act differently and then die a few hours/days later.  Old age was why they died- maybe they realized that they were going to.

I've had cats, cockatiels and turkey's do it.

  12. No.  What do they know about weather?  Please don't fool yourself, animals cant predict weather.

If an animal knew it was gonna die, then why do deer keep crossing busy highways?  Wouldn't they know they'd get kill when a semi truck smashes in to them?

  13. Yea. Some do. I know lions and elephants do, I saw it on animal planet. They wander off from the group and let themselves pass.

  14. I think they do.  When my beloved dachshund was going into renal failure, at one point I couldn't find her.  She was hiding under my bed, which she had never done in her whole life.  I think she was looking for a place to go off and peacefully die.

  15. Im sure if they can sense weather changes that they can figure out when it's there time to leave...   They know, we just don't understand, were human, were always curious.

  16. I think so. There are stories of animals such as dogs and cats that visit people before they die. Its hard to say what goes through an animals mind. They dont reason like people, but they have instincts which tell them to eat, sleep, drink or die. Survival is instictive to all creatures.

  17. sure they do. tomorrows pirate day!

  18. yeah, they are more in tuned with their bodies and environment than humans are.

  19. we are animals, and we don't know... im sure they feel sick, or you know "old", but i don't think that they know when they are going to die.... just like us, we know when a person gets elderly, you can tell when they are going to die... i would assume the same thing for animals.... good question :)

it is true that elephants go to their own special "graveyard" when they are going to die, but i think that it is a time when an elephant knows he is getting old and he goes to sort of "giveup", when he is no longer useful to his other elephants... hope i helped...

  20. YES

  21. No. Just like people. Unless Monkey the Doc breaks the news to them.

  22. It is interesting how they isolate themselves before they die.

  23. I believe they do.  Within the past year, 2 of my outdoor cats went missing.  They were both 14 to 15 years old, and they vet told me that sometimes they just go away to die.

One of them especially was a homebody.  He wouldn't leave the house for anything, so since he's been gone for 2mos., I can't imagine any other reason except that he wanted to be alone when he decided to die.

  24. They have as much knowledge about this as we do because we are animals too.

  26. I don't think animals can sense when they will die. As for them knowing about the weather that isn't supernatural
