  1. i think people are missing the fact that cats are carnivores. only eating meat requires hunting. all types of cats sleep a lot to conserve energy because they (in the wild) only eat every few days.

lizards do it for energy b/c like the other person said, they're exothermic.

  2. Lizards and other cold-blooded animals may sun themselves to absorb heat, as their bodies cannot make heat on their own.

Cats and other warm-blooded animals do make heat on their own, and regulate their body temperatures internally.  However, it does take quite a bit of energy to produce heat, so sitting in a warm location saves them energy.  If it gets too cold outside, a warm-blooded animal will not even be able to rest, as it will have to exercise its muscles to keep warm.  A cold-blooded animal would simply go into a torpid state.  Either could die of hypothermia, of course, if the temperature goes below what they can tolerate.

  3. Cats do cause they are just to lazy to get out of the sun.  Cats like all mammals get energy from food not the sun.

Lizards are exothermic.  Lizard metabolism is dependent upon an exterior source of heat.

  4. Cats and lizards sun themselves to absorb energy, which, in this case, it the heat. Hope I could help!
