Do animals remember their parents after being separated? ?

Examples-

The only time a mother sea turtle spend time with her young is when she lay her eggs. When the eggs hatch the the baby turtles will be on their own. Let's say in 10 years, they swam by each other. Would they recognize their family member and bond?

  1. With Sea Turtles, no.  Mainly for the fact that the eggs are laid on the beach then left alone.  Like many other reptiles the mother does not stay around until they hatch.  Thus when the eggs hatch there is no mother, father to see and bond with.

    As far as other species go, some yes, some no.  Elephants and primates are species that are an easy one to see such behavior in.

    Overall it all depends on the species, but for Sea Turtles, no.


  2. Like you said, sea turtles never ever see their mother, so they would never recognize her.

    As far as animals that were raised by parents, or just their mother, they may or may not recognize her depending on the species.

  3. nope.they not. they don't have photographic memory as human being has. and they don't need milk from their mother because they're not a mammal.they can live by their own selves through the help of nature...
