Do anime like Pokemon represent the devil or anything like that?

This may sound like a stupid question but my mom and grandma are from Mexico and they think that Pokemon and other kinds the anime represent something bad, well I just want to know...

i know what you mean me and my family are from mexico  and one half is catholic and the other Jehovah's witness and they say the same thing
