I talked to someone who was on Paxil Xanax for major anxiety and he said the meds helped alot, but he also said he tended to say/do alot of dumb stuff without thinking about the consequences beforehand. Have you guys experienced this at all? Do you care less? Do you find yourself worrying less about what othes think?

  1. PAXIL DOES NOT MAKE YOU GOOFY. IT ACTUALLY BRINGS YOU OUGHT OF YOUR DEPRESSED FOG . YOU PROBABLY WON'T NOTICE ANY SIDE EFFECTS. YOUR PROBABLY GOOFIER NOW BEING DEPRESSED. XANAX IS DIFFERENT IT IS USED TO TREAT ANXIETY AS WELL AS SOCIAL ANXIETY. IF YOU TAKE THE SMALL AMOUNT YOUR DOC PRESCRIBES YOU WILL PROBABLY JUST FEEL MORE AT EASE AND RELAXED. IF YOU TAKE EXTRA XANAX YOU WILL FEEL GOOFY AND PROBABLY LESS INHIBITED AND POSSIBLE NOT A REAL CLEAR MEMORY. YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL WITH XANAX IT CAN BECOME ADDICTIVE NEVERNTAKE MORE THAN PRESCRIBED.

  2. Well first of all there is a big question of whether paxil does anything at all.  Xanax is usualy prescribed for anxiety and specially panick attacks.  If you have never taken xanax and start taking them they can really make you very screwed up.  You gain a tolerance for these things quick though.  In some people it does make them black out and they will do stuff and not remember what they did when they wake up.  Yes I've tried Xanax lot's and I'm a hypnotherapist so I know a bit about medications.

  3. different people react to psychotropic medication differently. some people will find that paxil helps them while others feel like its zombi-fies them. and still other people will be shot up into a manic episode from paxil or various other anti-depressants. one symptoms of a manic episode CAN be lowered impulse control aka not thinking about consequences before acting.

its important when one decides to make the jump into medication with a doctor that there is a strong communication between patient and doctor so that any issues like this can be discussed and worked out and so they can find the very best treatment/medication for that particular person. sometimes simply changing doses or medications can alleviate the problems. sometimes the patient just needs to get used to the medication, it can take 4-6 weeks for antidepressants to stabilize in the body enough to bring the desired effects out of the drug into the brain.
