  1. No

  2. Yes, but they are not like our hearts, it are just a small tube that runs down the body of the insect and pump haemolymph (arthropod blood) around the body.

  3. Hello Feebs ,

Ants have a small tube that functions like a heart that circulates haemolymph - a colourless blood around the body. It is located in the thorax, so basically however long the thorax is, that is how long this muscle arrangment is. This delivers some oxygen, but in a highly active invertebrate, the oxygen requirement is higher than this system can deliver, therefore gaseous exchange occurs in trachae that allow direct diffusion of oxygen into the tissues.

Are you in love with an ant ?

    Really ! !

  4. Apparently ants have the largest heart in comparision to their bodies compared with any other creature. They must have hearts or else they cannot breath :|

  5. The ants heart is a long tube.It pumps a whiteish blood from the abdomen to the brain. The blood spills out over the brain and oozes through the body to the abdomen. It then reenters the heart. As the blood flows, it nourishes the cells in the antennae, leg muscles, and other organs.

Most insects have hearts. Some of the smaller types don't. An insect heart is fairly simple, it's basically a muscular tube that contacts from one end to the other, forcing blood through it. Insects have an open circulatory system. What this means is that the blood flows from the blood vessels out the end into the body cavity. It sloshes around the body cavity until it gets sucked back into the other open end of the blood system somewhere else. This is in contrast to mammals where the blood never leaves the blood vessels at any stage.
