I was just wondering, because I saw a clip from an anime that is set during the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. In one scene, shortly before the bombing, a colony of ants is seen entering a family's home, and the family members are mystified about why they are suddenly coming in. Is it possible that ants can sense when a nuclear holocaust is approaching? If so, how?

  1. Absolutely not.

  2. Have you not heard of Spider Sense, one of my Spidey's most useful powers?  Insects seem to have this ability much in the same that dogs and cats do.  I do not think can really explain exactly why and how they do.  I am inclined to think they do because there have been plenty of times where I have tried to kill a bug from behind and they take off before I have a chance to squash it.

Just curious, what anime was it?

    DRAGON 2008

    "I BELIEVE IN U.S."

Amazing.  What is even more amazing is that Japan seems to totally love us despite dropping the bomb.

  3. Maybe not a Nuclear Holocaust, but they can definitely smell bad weather coming, feel seismic disturbances, and sense impending floods.

They are particularly sensitive to what kind of winter we're going to have.

I always know when its going to be a cold and wet one because they invade my house especially bad the summer before an 'El Niño' year.
