I can't seem to find any dvd recorders online that list as having an rf input so I can record tv programs. They only seem to have s video, composite... I want one with a tuner built in but I also need to connect it to a tv. Anyone have one or know of one with an rf input. Thanks!

  1. Search Amazon.com for "DVD recorder". Some of the matching items helpfully indicate whether they have a tuner or not, such as the Toshiba DR560 or Panasonic DMR-EZ17S. (I haven't tried either of those.)

  2. Yes there are, my Sony VCR/DVD recorder has an RF input but these types of inputs are going to become more rare as the move to DTV goes forward.  It should say in the specifications "coax input" or "RF input".

I bought a Samsung last year assuming it would have a RF input and it did not.  I returned it for the Sony.

If you have trouble figuring out online whether a given unit will have the RF input, it may be better to go to a store that has a good selection and check the connectors on the back just to confirm.
