Is freedom of speech, expression, religion, press, and assembly guaranteed by any European constitutions?

  1. Yes its all covered by the HUMAN RIGHTS to which all European countries subscribe.


  2. Yes. Most do, even some of the "New Europe" (Ex Eastern Block Countries)...In fact if you are from the USA then in my travels around the world America has one of the most insular medias in the world. Unfortunately most Americans are not informed by the American Press enough about what really is going on around the world.....(even the economical stuff that involves them now).

  3. Yes and no. Pretty well everybody has some provision of the sort, but the US is unique in its political philosophy (though even justices of the Supreme Court seem to forget it) in that the governments of other countries guarantee those rights, where the government of the US not only supports those rights but lacks the authority to do otherwise. The great strength of the US system of government is its inherent weakness and inefficiency.
