  1. Yes.  If you try to hold a weened baby hamster before it is used to being held, it might cry.

  2. yes

  3. of course but not in the sense that we do

    visit Peta2.com

monkeys are scared of needles as well

  4. yes they do but not as bad as humans

  5. Technically yes and no. Animal's eyes water when irritated (ex. when its get flys attacking its eye) but because "its sad" no off course it can be argued by PETA that monkeey cry from needles but all that is i sa rection to the needle not because its "Sad".

  6. I dont know of any animals that cry in sadness, but sea turtles are always crying.  Its hard to notice in the water of course, but when you see the females on the beach, laying eggs, they have big tears rolling down.  Its funny to hear kids say "wow it must hurt, the mum laying eggs is crying" :)  Scientists think its a mechanism to help get rid of the huge amounts of salt that a marine reptile is exposed to.

  7. baby seal cry, but that's just to keep their eyes from freezing.

  8. Yes they do but they aren't known for showing it.

  9. Elephants have glands on the sides of their heads called temporal glands. Those glands weep liquid when the elephant is in an emotional state. I've seen elephants get upset, weep from their temporal glands, and comfort each other. In terms of tears to express sorrow, its pretty limited. However, animals do grieve and can be disappointed or upset.  They will show it by looking for the member of their group who has disappeared (died), pacing and rocking...that kind of thing.
