  1. while David's answer was vulgar, cremation is a lot cheaper than burial.  I know social security will also pay $250 towards it.

  2. Try a church.  If the person was a vet or a spouse of a vet they get free burial in veteran's cemetery.  If they died from a crime, victim witness will help.

  3. That first answer is just pathetic! Please call the city's help line 311. They may be able to direct you to someone. God Bless.

  4. Contact mortuaries in your area. They will have the resources available to help you.

  5. cremation.

or wrap it in a sheet and bury in the back yard.

  6. If they have assets they can be sold. If not you might try taking up a collection.

My brother's house burned killing three of his kids and he had no money but the community helped him out. A uncle donated graves sites, the undertaker offered 3 for the price of one for the funeral. All the cards had cash or checks in them, my company even took up a collection thousands of miles away.

If there truly is no way to pay for the funeral the state will pay for it but it won't be what you would want. Cremation is fairly cheap and you can have a service later. If the person was in the service they can get a very nice military funeral.
