Specifically, I'm interested if any credible economist praises the economical implications for socialized healthcare, tax hikes, and Obama's education plan.

  1. Actually, more economists praise Obama's platforms than McCain's.

Health care wise, the amount of money lost through people not having health care (people not able to work due to being sick when they could have been treated and preventative medicine) outweighs the cost of some kind of universal health care system.

Raising taxes on the wealthy does not hurt them financially, and it increases government revenue. That increased government spending power will benefit the economy more than that money going into some kind of savings.

Since the U.S. economy is no longer a manufacturing based economy, if we want to stay financially strong we need our service industries to be top notch. For that to happen, education spending needs to pick up and help more kids get better educations.

  2. No legit economist would ever praise Obama's tax hike plan... that is just insane.  Raising taxes decreases government income.  I'm sure many people are thinking, "What Tangent??? How can that be? That is like saying down means up and 75 equals 200!"  Well let's think about it... The rich pay almost no taxes.  They hide their money in tricky tax shelters and shield themselves from the pains of giving their money away.  As the tax rate goes up the rich find more ways to protect their wealth, while the poor, with very few tax shelters available, if any, are forced to pay the higher tax.  As the tax rate goes down the rich don't feel the need to hide as much from the greedy hand of Uncle Sam, so they end up paying more in taxes.  If Obama goes through with his tax plan the economy will climb up onto a chair, place a rope around its neck, and jump off, killing itself in the process :-(  Socializing anything is the wrong way to go, although I know a few economists who are fans of socialized health care (only one actually).  More govenrment involvement is bad.  And I know nothing of Obama's education plan, so I'm not going to touch that one :-)
