  1. Voyager 1, which was launched September 5, 1977, is the farthest man made object from Earth, traveling away from both the Earth and the Sun at a relatively faster speed than any other probe. Though its sister-craft, Voyager 2, was launched 16 days earlier, Voyager 2 will never pass Voyager 1. Neither will the New Horizons mission to Pluto, despite being launched from Earth at a faster speed than both Voyager craft, since during its flight Voyager 1 benefited from a number of gravity assisted speed boosts

  2. Early planning is underway for manned missions to Mars.  Unmanned spacecraft have already left the solar system.

  3. NASA has some plans for a manned mission to Mars, but it quite likely will end up being an international effort, because of the huge investment in money and expertise required. Nothing is firmed up, and no date is available yet.

As for missions out of the solar system, it should be pointed out that the closest star system is 4.3 light years away, and with our present technology, a rocket propelled craft would require a couple of millenia to get there. There was a study done by experts from the British Interplanetary Society in the 1970's about a nuclear powered probe that could be sent to a nearby star system in about 50 years. The project as defined would be horribly expensive, and is still far beyond our technological means. See link for more details. So, short answer: no, not yet.

  4. It should happen within the next 30 years.

    Unless world politics blows up.
