Do any gymnasts here have advice on exercises?

I want to start gymnastics but I wanted some advice on how to strengthen my muscles before I go along.

  1. ahh same with me :]] when i started gymnastics all i'd previously worked on was being wicked flexible.

    & i struggled with bars and flips etc!

    but:

    i did some weight lifting and LOTS AND LOTS of pushups. my coach made me do like three hundred D:< haha BURN.


  2. push ups (elbows in) and rear dips are always good.

    Also, you will really need mid strength so through in some sit ups and bridge holds (straight body from toes to elbows making a bridge) as well! Enjoy gymnastics
