  1. Check Wikipedia under Kriegsmarine they have a listing of all the ships and their fates. Look at the bottom of the page. Since we must count submarines, there are approximately seven still in existance and on display, including one Type XXI in Germany. The rest are Type VII's. There are no Type IX's on display because they were just too big to be practical for salvage.

EDIT: Crow is correct, with the Type IXC's, and the Horst Wessel. In Wiki on the U534 page, the author states that this submarine if one of only four in the world remaining. I was fairly certain that there are more than four, as there are several Type VII's around. But check uboat.net as suggested, and the Kriegsmarine page on Wiki. I'm a little rusty. I would withdraw my answer but that takes away from the usefulness of the discussion. That's my opinion anyway.

  2. The person above me is wrong - he is obviously forgetting about U-505, a Type IXC which is on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago and the U-534 which was raised in the Kattegat in 1993 and is now in the process of being restored.  Ther is also the USCGS Eagle (ex Horst Wessel), a US Coast Guard sail training ship which was taken over from Germany at the end of the war.  Also, check out www.uboat.net, an excellent site dealing with U-boats and other vessels from WWI and WWII - including the fates of the boats and the victims of each boat.
