Do any of you all know what this strange insect/animal in my front yard might be?

Within the last year I've noticed that during the spring/summer these small red...creatures.... that resemble scorpions come into my front yard. We've seen very few of them but none the less the visit us every year. We haven't really had any noticeable problems from them and from the looks of it they do possess a stinger like a scorpion but I was wondering if anybody new of some insect or animal that resembled this or possibly point me in the direction of a website/person who might know.

It's a pseudoscopion. It's still in the family line of the scorpion.

This seems to be the most common result for a bug that looks like a scorpion.  It's actually just called a pseudoscopion.  Is this the same one?
