  1. she has been losing latey....and i mean losing!!!!!!! She hasnt been to any quaterfinals this yr

  2. Too much focus on modeling and endorsements...

  3. Yes, she is definetely losing her magic touch. Better players are joining the WTA circuit so she better get her act together if she wants to add any more grand slams to her collection

  4. i dont know whats going on with her game hope she sorts it out because she is a good player

  5. I think she's still playing okay, but she needs to concentrate more on tennis, less on modeling and commercials and stuff.

She's my absolute favorite too. :)

  6. It doesn't matter, because she's hot!

  7. i've noticed too, but i don't think she has completely lost her game....evry one has bad games...and this time it wasn't in her favor at Wimbeldon.....but i have noticed a slight downfal in playing and a rise in her fashion statement lately....but she still is a really great player and deserves her ranking.....hopefully she does well in US Open, i really want her to win this time too(she's my favorite)

  8. I have always maintained that she could be the number one player in the world and truly dominate the women's game the way some of the former champions of the game once did. However Sharapova seems to be pre-occupied with fulfilling the demands of her many sponsors and endorsements rather than putting in the hard work that is needed to elevate her game amongst all the other top players.

I am seriously not buying this shoulder injury problem she claims she has been suffering from for a while now. Her serve held up beautifully at this years Australian Open and not once you heard any talk about this shoulder problem. Suddenly she has had a couple unexpected losses and there is that shoulder problem again. Give me a break!!!

Sharapova reminds me a lot Mary Pierce. Remember when Pierce first started playing, the big splash she made, defeating Steffi in the 1994 French Open Semis and getting to the finals of her first Grandslam at 19 years old, and then a year later winning the 1995 Australian Open. At the time Mary was known as the French blonde bombshell, sponsors and endorsements from all over were thrown at her, and her game then suffered as a result in the following years. Then in 1999, when the Williams sisters really started to make their presence known to the tennis world with their muscular stature and aggressive game, I remember watching Mary at the US Open that year and saw how beefed up she looked. No longer was she the French bombshell. Instead you saw the makings of a true athlete who wanted to elevate her career in order to compete, rather than worry about looking a certain way to satisfy the needs of sponsors.

It's because of this why I would say Sharapova has not been having the kind of success that is expected of her. In my opinion Sharapova is a far better player than Mary was in her prime. However the difference is that Mary knew that at some point endorsements and sponsors would only carry you so far, and if she wanted the results she hoped to have gained from her career, she had to start putting in the off court work to reap the gains on the court. Even if that means altering your body to become more fit. Sharapova still has not been able to do this!!! And maybe this would attest for the many injuries she seems to be having these days.

  9. It really seems that way, every time I look she is losing in the early rounds.  I don't see her improving at the U.S. open.  Maybe to the quarters, but anything beyond that seems non realistic judging by the way shes playing.  Who knows, maybe it's modeling and endorsements or her opponents are used to her screaming by now lol. She will have to wait till next year to do better in the grand slams.

  10. She plays tennis?.....hmm

  11. uh ya. why should she care she is the highest paid female sports player i think. shes a tall idiot. she thinks shes made it. guess what shes not no. 1 anymore. i dont like her. i hate her fashion

  12. when did she had her grip on tennis

  13. It's the people around her that want to cash in on her Hottness,  Like Canon and all the other endorsments.  It's kinda hard to pass up fat edndorsment checks.  They won't be asking her to model forever.

  14. yeah she seems to be losing her edge and i don't follow her lifestyle or personal life so i wouldn't know why but she doesn't seem to be on her game as she used to be.

  15. There are many good tennis players, and I think that they have just caught up to her.
