Sometimes when you get up after sitting down for a while when you stand up you get a bit dizzy, what is it? I get it at other times too.

  1. could be low blood sugar, check with doctor. you wont have to take any meds for it but  will need to adjust eating habits tho.

  2. It can't hurt to take a Blood Pressure Test, that's what I did.

  3. I used to get this quite a lot. I was told that I may be getting up too quickly.

    Get your blood pressure checked.

  4. I'm not a doctor but, when you go from a sitting position to a standing one your heart has to do more work to pump the extra needed blood, if you have low blood pressure then the extra pumping takes to long to get the blood moving and there is a dip in brain oxygenation. Stand up slower.

  5. y'know, my doctor told me the same thing?  It started when I was about 15 or so... now I'm 23 and it still happens, but not as much.  We tested my heart and my blood sugar and all that and it came out normal.

Just get up slower.. that's the only way to counter it I guess seeing as nobody's been able to help me with it either.

  6. Its when you stand suddenly and all your blood rushes to your head. Stand up slower and it wont happen.
