Question:

Do any of you remember the case of the Oregon parents and their baby that were stranded in the snow?..?

....in their car and he died leaving to search for help after nine days? What do you think people should carry with them as a locating device if their cell phone dies or is not within range and is no help in a forested area? What would be a good idea to invent or bring along?

  2. I used to carry a 5 watt CB walkytalky when I went hiking. It gave me a good chance of contacting a truck driver who could relay a message.

      It is also a good idea to carry a few emergency items in the car. In the winter I carry an old quilt, a small tarp, a brick hammer (can break ice on the road, and a copy of   the army survival guide.
