  1. What do you mean by decide to breed do you mean (A)just for fun or(B) to make young?

Answer for A would be Humans and Dolphins are the only animals that do it for pleasure.

Answer for B would be certain animals have certain breeding seasons and / Temperatures needed to be able to breed if the conditions aren't right the young won't survive.

  2. nothing can beat the decision of human beings to breed

  3. Animals can't decide anything. Everything they do is defined by instincts.

By the way, expatpau... I've decided not to breed. How do you explain that? :-p

  4. I assume that you are talking about breeding seasons?

If so, I think only Bonobos (chimp-like primates) are the only other animal not to have a set breeding season and therefore breed year round.

  5. NO species, even humans, DECIDE not to breed. Breeding, is a natural and uncontrollable, programmed response, we are genetically programmed to reproduce ourselves.

What happens when an environment is overpopulated, certain other automatic reactions get turned on to control the population. Those species and environments without natural predators, such as humans, then devise their own ways of controlling the population, either by science, medicine or other, more drastic ways.

It can be argued that war is a natural function of organized societies to control populations; other species with large, highly organized social structure, such as ants and bees, have such mechanisms to keep the population of the hive or colony at supportable levels.

  6. female rabbits reabsorb their unborn babies when conditions aren't right for them
