  1. Well, what i do is watch random vids on YouTube, or just look at some pic books , hope you get out of you slump !

  2. Everyone gets in a creative slump some time. What you have to do is put aside your painting / music / writing or whatever art you are an artist of. Agonizing over it doesn't help.

Check out a museum or something. Watch some TV. Read a book. You can't force creativity. Don't worry, you'll get out of the slump eventually.

  3. This is completely normal and you wouldn't be a good artist if it didn't happen to you. I think the reason we get into slumps is because our spirit just gets worn out from the hard work of creating and it is our mind and soul's way of making us rest.

What I find most helpful is to seek out great beauty in two places.

I will to to a musueum or art gallery that has pieces that inspire me. when I do this I will bring a sketch pad and  pastels or my favorite drawing implement. usually about half way through my wanderings I will sit down and start drawing.

The other place I find helpful is nature. I am in a rural area so I am blessed with mountains, a river and the beach. Obviously a park will do just as well. The point is to break your routine and see the colors and light surrounding you. Sketch book in hand, relax and have at it.

Even if you are not a painter/drawer this kind of visual stimulation will often work to jar an artist out of the creative doldrums.

The most important thing to remember is:

    This too shall pass!
