Do any other receivers/tuners/amps work with the Bose Lifestyle 28 system speakers?

The module with the radio tuner/CD player which has been problematic since I bought it now won't even turn on. I was hoping to replace just the Tuner while still using the speakers but a single cord attaches the tuner to the main base module of the speakers which seems unusual. The cord has the end from the tuner that is circular and has 8pins within it...the other end that goes into the base module has a plug that looks like CAT-5 plug on a computer.

unfortunately bose systems are very proprietary. there systems are not interchangeable with other systems. they can only be used with there own equipment, at least for the lifestyle systems. so you are stuck with having to find a bose reciever. you could try ebay or craigslist, you might get luck there
