Question:

Do any other tall pregnant women have this problem with clothing?

I am 5'10" & currently 29 weeks pregnant. I find that the clothes I bought a couple months ago still fit me fine EXCEPT in terms of length. The bigger my belly gets, the shorter my shirts get. Buying a larger size doesn't help either (I tested this out). It is annoying when the band of my pregnancy jeans show. I am currently wearing my bella bands to cover my pants so it looks like I am layering...

Maybe this just isn't a tall thing... I don't know. I finally found jeans that are long enough to wear (hooray for the Gap) & now the shirts have become an issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions on stores that have longer shirts or styles to look for?

Thank you :)

  1. I've encountered the same problem. I'm only 5'7'' but I normally buy tall size jeans, which apparently they don't make in maternity clothing. The only thing I can think to do is wear capris or dresses. As far as the shirts go...I have no clue. Most of my maternity shirts are long enough, I do have a few that aren't but I just deal with my belly showing a little bit.

  2. Agreed, thank you to GAP Maternity!

At 5'9" I am now also finding I have a problem with the length of shirts. I have a long torso and the bigger my belly gets the more I am pulling down my shirts to cover the band on my pants. Pretty much I'm just wearing Old Navy maternity tanks under everything, but I can tell those will get too short soon enough.

Someone else mentioned Liz Lange at Target, when I think about it the few LL's I have from there are the only ones I don't have to tug down every 5 minutes...but in the long run I'm still unsure.

  3. I had the same problem when I got to the last few months in pregnancy. I out grew everything... I am 5"9 and the clothes they make just don't cut it any more. I find wearing my partners ex large T-shirts do the trick or i buy a short stress in a style that can be used as a pregnancy top. Works quiet well!!

  4. I'm 5'9" and have the same issue.  I have to wear capris instead of long pants because of this issue.  I also just keep wearing some of my stretchy dresses and skirts.  Its hard, I know.  I did, however, find that Motherhood Maternity GREATLY DIFFERED in the lengths of their jeans depending on the style.  I went in and tried on 12 different jeans, found ONE that fit long enough, and bought them.  They are the only long pants I can wear.

    Good Luck!!

  5. I got given a couple of stretchy RIPE tops that almost went to my knees! OK, I exaggerate but they were def long enough and super comfy too :)
