it prob depends on the resturant also a lot of them might only want to take local checks

Very, very, very few places take checks. If in doubt, call and ask first. Good luck finding one.

Most restaurants usually don't accept checks in the event they bounce.  The restaurant gets screwed over with bank fees and doesn't get paid.   I think the only exceptions is if you were placing a large catering order.

Non that I am aware of. All the major resturants I've been to has a no checks accepted sign. Good luck finding one that does. =/
