I wish to use them to pick my own master lock combination locks. I'm well aware of the pop can method, but I can't get that to work. I also used to use the numbers method where there are 100 possibilities but that took me too long.

  1. Opening COMBINATION locks with lock-picks ?? That isn't what you need...

Also, in MOST States, it is illegal to carry lock-picks unless you're a lock-smith or detective.

I smell cheesy childish criminal behavior here.

  2. try the internet. you can find anything online.

  3. You are unlikely to find a set in California, as they are considered burglary tools under California law.  I do not know how other states treat them.  Taking a hammer to your locks to get them off and then buying a new lock might be cheaper than legal fees...

  4. 1. Lock picks are NOT used on combination locks.

    2. In many places, possession alone is a criminal offense unless you are a licensed locksmith. (You state they are legal in your area, OK)

    3. These are 'specialized' tools and not likely to be found in a 'discount' store.

You might try to convince a locksmith in your area to get you a set since you say they are legal.

  5. you might not find the best quality, those type of things are usually spy toys for little kids. However if you go to a hardware store they might sell something like it
