If so, does it work for you? My mom put me on it. I've never had s*x with it in before and I'm wondering what it's like and if it works well.

  1. I used it for about two years with great success. You just have to be careful after s*x make sure its still in place. But not having to remember birth control on a daily basis was awesome.

  2. Still a great risk involved with this one, if you want a better piece of mind why dont you try the 'Implamon' or what ever it is called where you are from. Its a small capsule that is inserted underneath the skin just below the arm pit. It slowly releases desogestret for up to 4 years. Therefore you dont have to worry about remembering to take your pill, or a ring slipping, there's limited side effects (the same as any contraceptive pill eg weight gain/loss, skin etc) and if you decide during those 3-4yrs that you want to fall pregnant, you can just have it removed.

  3. I did a lot of research on the Nuva Ring because I really wanted to go on it, but then I asked my doctor and he said it wasn't available in my country. I'm pretty gutted about that, because it sounds really good.

    Most men say they never feel the Nuva Ring while having s*x, but those who do don't mind. You can take the Nuva Ring out before you have s*x, but you need to wash it in warm water and reinsert it within 3 hours(the same one as you had before).

    I've read reviews and people have had less side effects than with the normal pill. Here are some of the reported side effects.

        *   Vaginal discharge

        * Vaginal irritation

        * Headache

        * Weight gain

        * Nausea

        * Irregular bleeding

        * Breast tenderness

        * Mood changes

    But the chances of the side effects occurring is slim and if they do, they're usually not too bad.

    You can't feel the Ring when it's inside you, but you need to remember to remove it after 3 weeks at exactly the same time and then place a new one in after a week.

    The Nuva Ring is 99% effective (perfect use) at preventing pregnancy, 0% effective at preventing STDs. There is that 1% chance you could fall pregnant. I'm on the mini pill and use a condom. It just puts my mind at ease knowing that there is a very very tiny chance that I could fall pregnant.

    Good luck!
