  1.   Summer isn't the best time to visit since you see building, not teachers teaching.

See if you can arrange to spend the night in dorm, with the students.

Coming out of the strict structure of your home and school, it's pretty hard to imagine how different any college is compared to what you've experienced before.

  2. Make a list of things youre curious about, and questions you have, before you go.  That way you won't forget.  It's also important to look at the dorms, if that's where you're staying, try the food, maybe sit in on a class or talk to a professor if you know what sort of subjects or majors you're interested in.  If you're interested in Greek life, ask about that and if youre into sports or clubs, get information on those as well.

  3. Look up the prospectus of as many as you can and then find out information of the places where they are. Visit the ones you are attracted to and really explore the work and atmosphere when you are there. Ask the present students what they feel about the colleges and look at the work produced. Have fun doing so!

I enjoyed visiting and studying at Winchester School of Art in Hampshire Uk and also enjoyed every minute of my time studying at Otis L.A Calif. for my degree in Fine Art Painting B.A.(Hons).

    Good luck to you!

  4. Make sure the general type of people that go to the school are people you think you can get along with. LIberal or not, Hippy, Preppy whatever.

Also make sure you like the town.

In you are athletic check out the gym, if you study a lot check out the library.

Unless you are planning to try to get into a realllly competitive grad school, or going into a really competitive field it doesnt really make a difference where you go to school.

    College is FUN.

maybe choose somewhere where non of your friends are going, because you can always keep in touch but it is a great feeling to start over compleatly and carve a new place in the world out for yourself.
