i would hate to give you a certain location, however i would recommend going to a dealer and trying to buy one with the factory warranty still in effect.  Also you may want to look into purchasing a service contract with the vehicle however please be sure to read all the fine print and not just take the business managers word for about what type of coverage you are buying.  Also, the manufaturer's extended warranty is the best type to buy that way no matter where you are in the united states if you have a problem with your vehicle you can take it to the dealer and have no problem with them accepting you extended warranty, however the manufacturer's extended warranty does cost more.  Used Toyotas and Hondas would be at the top of my list.  They generally hold the value better so may cost a little bit more, but they are generally more dependable.  The hendricks auto group in Charlotte has a good reputation,  the Harrelson group is ok, some of there stores are kind of iffy so be careful,  i've been away from Charlotte for A few years so a lot has probably changed.  Just do your homework and def do not purchase on the same day you look.  It's always better to think about it for a night.  If you have found the car you absolutely cannot live without and are scared it may be gone the next day ask if you can leave a deposit on the vehicle and make sure you get it in writing if you change your mind that the deposit is refundable.
