Question:

Do anyone know how to get black ink out of a light colored shirt?

I have a yellow shirt that I got black ink on after my pen leaked in my pocket do anyone have any Ideas of how to get it out....I have tryed just about every of the shelf cleaner you can name and havent had any luck....Do anyone know of anything else I can try?

  1. Hairspray does work on some ink stains but if it doesnt try a Biz boil. Put a large pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil add 3/4 to a cup of Biz. Boil your shirt for about 45 min and then let sit till the water cools then launder. Good luck!

If hairspray doesn't work try denatured alcohol (which is found in the hardware store).  Pour the alcohol on the opposite side of the stain (if the stain originated on the front, you would pour from the back) and place a folded paper towel under your shirt to absorb the ink.  Let the denatured alcohol sit for several hours and change the paper towel frequently to avoid the stain returning to the fabric).  Repeat until stain is gone.

  3. I have used hairspray on ink stains before, but not sure how effective it will be on leaks. Try it anyway though. good luck!

  4. I would say to use color safe bleach to pre-treat it and then wash it. If that doesn't work take it to the dry cleaners! Hope that helps!
