Hi,

There are many ways to market a small business on the web.  You can buy banner ads, text links, or use PPC.  However, the best way is to get listed in a bunch of portals. Portals and directories are like phone books, and they often provide a lot of traffic because they tend to rank high on Google.

You can try article marketing at an article submission service like http://www.ezinearticles.com and link back to your website in the resource box for your articles.

You can also comment on popular blogs like John Chow's or Joel Comm's that allow linkbacks to your URL. Do a Yahoo Search.

Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the screen. All of these are free.

First of all submit it to as many search engines as you can, there are lots of place to do this free.

Use social marketing: Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Plurk, get a BLOG, etc...

Submit your website to lots of Directories: make sure you submit it under the correct classification.

Just put 'Free Advertising' into your search engine and sites will come up for you to advertise on for free.

Ask your friends to email your site out to lots of people.
