Do apartments/flats (for rent) in Italy come furnished like in the US?

Question

I jus wanted to know if they will come with a refridgerator, washing machine, carpet, kitchen furnishings and all. If not how does one get these stuff. I will be staying in Milan for about 2-3 months, so I wouldn't want to buy these things. Any suggestions?

I agree with Maria. We were able to rent a lovely furnished apartment with all that you'd be looking for in Vicenza. But IF you have a car, make sure to take parking into consideration too! Some apartments come with the furniture but others don't. You will just have to specify that you want it furnished.
