  1. Yes. My husband's grandfather even had an apricot tree in his backyard in Las Vegas, NV.


  2. Yes they do grow in the United States.

  3. Yes California grow alot of them along with Texas and Arizona, most of those are dried, the canned one come from either Australia or South Africa, but alot are import dried from Turkey and Greece.

  4. The western Stanislaus county (CA) town of Patterson is the "Apricot Capital of the World"

    Avoid those terrible dried "Turkish" or "Mediterranean" apricots.  The practices there used to dry them are terrible.  They are artificially colored and sweetened.

    Unfortunately, imports are killing the CA apricot canning industry (along with peaches and pears).  Don't buy any canned fruit that is labeled imported.
