Do artists have to live near the studio there signed with?

i found out where tooth and nail records r and they r in seattle and i was wondering if i ever got signed with them would my band and i have to live in seattle? i jus dont get how it works

The whole point in being in a major band is to travel.  When recording an album, you will need to temporarily live near the studio, but a hotel room will suffice.  When on tour you travel.  And when you're not doing anything, you live wherever you want.

For your own conveniance its better to stay nearby.

you wouldnt have to move, but it would probably be easier cause youre gunna be spending a lot of time there and you wouldnt wanna have to commute back and forth all the time
