  1. your form of logic makes no sense at all. that is more the statement of someone who believes they are the only smart ones in the world or believes theirs is the only way.  the term agnostic came into being with the early church, so how does that make your statement true?

  2. Of course. But, just because we choose to believe something doesn't give a basis of any reality. LIke the fireflies in the summer. When my kids were little I used to tell them they were fairies playing fairy games in the woods. A wonderful, magical thought. Logic alone doesn't work. We need intuition and logic to balance our lives.

  3. goog point... i think i failed ur last logic question... i agree we're all agnostics

  4. It's these questions that are fail.

If by "we are all agnostic" means "religious people can't prove a higher power exists" then yes, you are right. Does that mean I believe in god? no. Does that mean god exists? no.

    ... <- makes me cool

  5. Please do not fail this logic question.

Do you adeppists understand that logic dictates we are all neutral, but we CHOOSE to believe that Johnny Depp loves us.

    See?  Your logic in action!

  6. Logic only applies to well-formed propositions.  Are you running your questions through a bad English translator?

  7. if we were logical we would be agnostic...(logic dictates? is it hitler?) but people have emotions, etc so people will believe whatever they like.

  8. Yes we do, but we are forced to choose atheism due to the extreme unlikely hood of any deity existing. It's more logical not to believe the absurd claim and dismiss it than it is to shake your head and say maybe.

  9. I believe that, basically, everyone is agnostic for no one KNOWS if there is any kind of deity.

However, I BELIEVE there are no gods, so I am atheist.

Christians, Wiccans, etc... BELIEVE there are... so they are theists.

What you know and what you believe are different.

  10. Uh, if you're not atheist then you're not logical.  Everyone knows that!

So your so-called point is moot.

    I'm Atheist!

  11. Logic does not necessarily dictate that we should be agnostics. Reason might, depending on your general view of the agnostic principle, dictate that we all be agnostic atheists, but that must come with qualifiers.  let's go through a few things here:

    Theism-belief in god

    Atheism-no belief in god

Now, unless a person takes the affirmative position (I believe in god), then by default they have no belief in god.  Ask a few people who label themselves as agnostic "Do you believe in god?"  Unless they answer yes, they fall under the heading of atheism.  They may feel that god (and its existence) is unknowable, but they do not take the affirmative stance.  They are, appropriately labeled, agnostic atheists.

Agnosticism may be further divided into practical and principal.  The former asserts that given our current level of knowledge, we cannot know of god.  This is the case where reason might dictate the position of agnostic atheism.

Principal agnostics, on the other hand, maintain that god is forever unknowable.  This position is indefensible.  Simply by claiming that god is unknowable, the principal agnostic is make a claim of knowledge (they know that god is unknowable).  the only way to maintain this position is to make no claims about god, ie to say nothing about it.

Once again, I suggest you read some books or take some classes on logic, because you seem to have the grave misunderstandings of the subject that you are projecting on others.

  12. Logically, you are correct.  Can't argue with that.

And I've said that in previous answers I've made.  And you are correct again that we choose to either believe or not believe in god.

However, I tend to lean on the side of 'there is no god until there is adequate proof'.

  13. If there is no God then you are just an accident and the thought processes in your brain are accidental and random chemical reactions. Therefore there is no reason to believe that you are having and logical or rational thoughts. In fact you can't even know that you are asking the right questions.

Yet you assume that you are making sense and what is more you have appealed to a universal standard of logic which you assume everyone has. That is, when you speak of logic you assume everyone understand the concept and can make Sense of your statement.

Only in the light of a rational and logical God does such an assumption make sense.

Since you don't believe in God, and yet assume a universal standard of logic - Your argument is illogical (and to attempt to prove me wrong you still have to assume a universal standard of logic that your readers will understand).
