Depends on the country, in some you might get paid to go to the Olympics, in others you get paid for the amount and type of medals, and then there are the countries that don't pay you at all.

No.. the olympics was set up as an amateur games and winners only receive medals, no cash prizes. Olympian medal winners recieve money by making edorsements when they return home.
