unite us as human beings?

Why does it take something horrible to make us see how fragile we all are?

This is just a book (and a movie too) but I think the writer was brilliant in putting together these 9 insights...it's almost like a prophecy....a real one...in fact it's called the Celestine Prophecy.

These are the nine insights...do you think all these atrocities in fact unite us and are somehow leading us to attach on a spiritual level and realize we are really all connected?

Seriously now...take the time to read what's in the video and really think about it.

I'd like to hear from you...but only if you have really read what these words say...because everyone whose read them say they are really affected by what they reveal.

Is this why we feel other's pain??

  1. **If you're looking at the Tim McLean situation it's just so sad.  An innocent person going about his daily life to be taken in such horrible circumstances, no one deserves to die like that, especially for no reason whatsoever.

Makes you realise that you never know when your life will end and when the ones that you love will be taken from you and that you should cherish the ones that you love.**

  2. I first read the Celestine Prophecy in the mid 90's.  The concepts in that book have been retold in various ways in other books such as the Way of the Peaceful Warrior and more recently by The Secret.

These books describe a way of life which to me is not complicated and which accepts all that happens in the world and to each of us individually without question.  In essence, when one understands and uses these concepts in everyday life, our existence will be much more enjoyable and rewarding.

That being said, even though I am on the other side of the world (Australia), the tragic event that occured on a bus in Canada this past week has shattered me.  It was only the day before when I had made a conscious decision to no longer pay attention to the news headlines for they were placing such a negative burden on my mind.  From habit however, I logged on to the internet the next morning and read about Tim McLean.

I'm horrified at what people are capable of, and this story is perhaps the most tragic example of how callous and heartless the human being can be.

I feel there are no answers for this.  I feel there is no connection between us as humans when someone can commit such a brutal act against his own kind.

On another level though, I agree with you in that I am feeling the pain .. all the way over here.  I do not know anybody who is involved in this scenario, however I feel a loss as if Tim was my own brother.

I appreciate your question as it has given me a chance to release some thoughts around this.  For those of us who remain here for now, its up to us to make our time here enjoyable, rewarding and peaceful for everyone.
