Do australian electrical items need special plugs to work in vietnam?

The voltage in Vietnam is mostly 220V, 50hz compared to 240V, 50 hz in Australia, so unless your device(s) are able to accept different voltages as most cell phones, laptops and many other devices do these days, you will need a step-down converter to convert the voltage from 240V to 220V. look at the plug in, see what is the range....most new electrical stuff got ranges from 110 to 225..so u can use it in vietnam, just like my cellphone, digital camera, etc.....
