Do babies move less during labor or right before labor starts?

I'm just wondering, I am have TERRIBLE back pain, I am not real sure if it's contractions or not cause it's pretty consistent, it hasn't really stopped then started again it just kind of hurts all the time today but gradually hurting worse. But my son is moving A LOT! So I was just wondering.

I was 38 week when I gave birth to my son.  You sound like you are in pre labor.  you could have a tear in your amniotic sac.  I would contact you Midwife/Gyno to explain whats going on.  She's going to send you to the hospital to be evaluated.  You might be admitted so take your bag with you and leave it in the car.  Good Luck and Congrats!

My friend had something similar... and she had a baby two hours later.

Call your doctor and get your things ready... she/he might ask you to meet her/him at the hospital.

Back pain is very common throughout all of pregnancy, especially in the last trimester as everyting gets bigger and pushes down..so it is hard to tell whether or not it is labor pains, could be, could not. There is such thing as "back labor" also..where your lower back gets the contractions instead of your lower abdomen and can be very painful for pregnant women, i have not experienced this though, only backache associated with pregnancy. The "runny bowels" could be your system cleaning itself out, natural e***a. When u are in labor your body naturally knows what to do. It is best to clean itself out now then later when in the hospital..lol

Bbay will move less once in the hospital. the contractions will slow baby down and u may or may not feel him, especially with all of the pain, u will not even notice his movements...For now, take it easy and get prepared because the 2nd is just days away!
