Do baby blackbirds lie on there side a lot before learning to fly?

Found young blackbird in garden lying on its side took it to vet to check for injuries the nurse said he wasnt injured took it home put it near nest and so far mum is still feeding it which is great. He does seem to get about the garden but constantly flops to one side is this normal

This chick is like a human baby learning to walk.  They're a bit awkward at first, but they'll get the hang of it.  :)
