  1. Some robin nested in our garage this summer and as far as I know the parents didnt bring them water. I think they get all the liquid they need from the worms and thing they eat.

    In fact, ive never seen a small bird drink.


  2. Every animal needs water in one way or another. Some animals do not need direct contact water to obtain it. Baby birds obtain hydration through the regurgitated food brought by their parents. As they get older and more developed is when their bodies need to acquire more water. A lot of animals obtain moisture from their food as in the case of many animals that live in arid areas.

  3. Baby Robins, while still in the nest, get their water from the regurgitated worms, grubs, and other insects that the adults feed them.  At that stage they do not need water directly.  Also, when the mother bird regurgitates food from her crop it contains enzymes and anti-biotics that are a great benefit to the new hatchlings and help protect them from infection while still at a vulnerable age.
