Do back-swimmers live in saltwater pools?

back-swimmers are small bugs that live in water but breath air. they look like beetles with oars for legs, they can fly and they don't walk very good on land but are very good swimmers and can bite

  1. I don't know if the life in saltwater pools but they definitely live in chlorine pools.


  2. We always called them  water boatmen.

    Wait...I stand corrected - water boatmen and back-swimmers are related, but not the same insect.  I'm trying to find info for you.

    Ok, everything I've seen so far says that back-swimmers thrive in still, freshwater lakes and ponds.  Sounds like they don't like saltwater.
