  1. Yes. It disturbs me a lot. :(

  2. Sometimes the wording of the question makes absolutely no sense at all.  I have tried to answer the question the best that I could.  A couple of times I got responses that were really rude and crude because I had misinterpreted the question.

Since that happened, I am cautious before answering something I don't understand.  Spelling is a major pet peeve of mine.  Go figure - my Mom was an English teacher.

  3. Yes, because bad grammar or spelling can make people think the person who is asking the question is stupid and uneducated.

  4. Spelling not really, some people just aren't good spellers. Grammar does, but I still give them the same answer I would give someone with good grammar. Y/A is supposed to help people, not put them down.

  5. Yes. It also makes me despair about the standards of teaching in schools world wide.

I can tolerate a few spelling mistakes and typos, but the non-words like cuz and the use of 'your' instead of you're really grate on my nerves.

  6. Unfortunately, yes.

Sometimes it actually results in my "checking out" the question on the theory:  "Can they be this dumb?... Or What is going on?"

    But there are problems here:

    1) Some people may be smart, but poor typists.

    2) Some people put in odd spellings, etc... on purpose!

    3) Y\a does not have the best editor for either questions being asked, or queries being given.

I think that about 1/3 the time oddball spellings and grammar are either the fault of the y\a editor, or the result of a smart and educated person typing too fast!

And I think that about 1/4 the time, theese errors are done on an "I don't give a darn" basis...

And yes, I have answered a number of poorly written questions.  Why?

    Simply because I could.
