Do bands on myspace reply to messages themselves?

Question

I sent a myspace message to the band Flight of the Conchords and got a reply back, and it was even signed Bret and Jemaine (the members of the band) but I was wondering if they personally replied or if people do it for them. This goes for all bands, if you get a reply, can you be sure that its from the band members themselves?

They have permission to do it. Bands are too busy so they answer for them, im sure some artists do it themselves when free time
