Do basil or mint bolt?

Question

I was caught out with my coriander going to seed before I could use it. So I don't want it to happen to my basil and mint on my balcony.

Do basil or mint bolt?

They can both bolt to seed but I have even used my basil afterwards. If you notice them bolting before you have dried enough then trim them back.

They will bolt. Cut the flowers off...also, it's a good idea to pinch your plants off so they will bush out and not just grow straight up.

Yes, they can and do.  Pluck flowers off as soon as you see them.
