  1. bats are mammals - they have live young. Just one at a time.

Bats are also generally protected species - your exterminator will tell you that you can't remove them, but still charge you for the call out. Phone the local wildlife service instead. It will be cheaper and they can help you discourage the bats without killing them. However, you will most probably have to wait till fall, incase it is a maternity roost, where the babies stay while their mothers feed. But they are harmless and will do you a good turn by keeping the dangerous mosquitos at a low number in your neighbourhood, protecting you potentially from west nile virus and all that other nasty stuff.

why do you want to know if they lay egg, anyway? what difference could that make?

  2. No all bats give birth.

  3. Do NOT exterminate these bats...they are VERY important to the ecosystem and depending on what species they are, it may be illegal to kill them.  You can EASILY get them out without harming them in any way.  Also, bats are mammals, closely related to primates (which YOU are also closely related to), so, no, they do not lay eggs.  Look here for humane, safe extraction methods for removing bats from your home:

  4. NO.

  5. They are mammals and they give live birth, instead of getting an exterminator there are conservationists who can move the bats to another location.

  6. No

They give live birth like people do.

Bats are placental mammals, all of which along with marsupials give live birth

There are only 3 species of mammal that lay eggs, they belong to the group monotremata, a group of egg-laying mammals from Australia and Tasmania. They include the platypus and 2 species of echidna

  7. No, bats are placental mammals, they do not lay eggs. They give birth to live young like most mammals do. They also provide milk for their young.

Some species of bats are protected, meaning you would not be legally allowed to have them killed.

  8. No, bats don't lay eggs. Since they are mammals, they bear live young. The only two types of mammals that do lay eggs are the platypus and the echidna, which are primitive.
